MD/MBA Class of 2018

I am a CT local and completed my undergraduate education at the University of Connecticut earning a B.S. in Biological Sciences. I took a year to work as a research assistant at a program run by the Yale School of Public Health. Following this year, I matriculated into the UConn School of Medicine in Farmington, CT. While completing my initial coursework, I learned about the opportunity to pursue a dual MD/MBA degree. I decided to pursue the degree because I have always felt that very few medical schools teach anything about the business of medicine; for many, the first experiences with it are during post-graduate training. While we are taught about the science and art of healing in medical school, the business of medicine is here to stay and I want to utilize my skills from my MBA to effectively bridge the gap between health care providers and administration. Not only will this make me a better advocate for myself and fellow future physicians, but also for my future patients. I will be graduating in the Spring of 2018 with an MD/MBA and hope to pursue a career in women’s health as an OB/Gyn.
